Where We Work
Greene County is home ground, with Springfield at the middle of it. From there we run north into Polk County toward Bolivar, northeast into Dallas County, east into Webster County, and south into Christian County. Lawrence County ground on the west side gets quoted too.
The land does not stay the same across that map. North and west, around Fair Grove, Ash Grove, and Willard, it is cattle and hay ground with cedar leaning in off the fence rows. South through Ozark, Christian County keeps growing, so acreage there gets cleared for houses as often as for cows. Rogersville straddles the county line and sits on the James River, which brings brushy creek bank work with it. East at Marshfield and Seymour the country stands up into the high Ozark upland, and Marshfield is the highest county seat in Missouri. Buffalo, up in Dallas County, is the most rural stop on the list and the parcels there run big.
Two things travel with us everywhere on that map. Thin cherty soil over limestone, which is why a blade is the wrong tool on most of it. And karst, which means we walk the ground and plan around open sinkholes rather than over them.
